    Sheringham 1940’s Day – Sunday 18th September

    Meeting Point – Morrisons, Fakenham
    Meeting Time – 11.15am
    Departure Time – 11.30am
    Destination Name – Sheringham (The Lobster Pub)
    Estimated time of arrival at destination – 12.20

    Join us for a ride across country to the 1940’s day at Sheringham, we will have an area for parking outside The Lobster Public House, there are steam train rides and the whole town goes back to the 40’s

    Route covering A & B roads
    No return ride, make your own way home at you leisure

    What if weather is bad? Please check the website 2 hours before the ride is due to leave

    General:
    Please ensure you have a full tank and your bike is in good condition, also wear riding gear relevant to the conditions. You are responsible for your own safety, the Road Captain will give a brief before departure, please ask any questions at this time

    Ride Classification – C – Closed
    To take part in a closed ride you must be a current member of the Fenlanders Chapter and hold a valid National H.O.G membership. Non Fenlanders (Guest) riders will be allowed to attend a maximum of 2 closed rides. All riders must be on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and the rider must be a current valid H.O.G member. The 2 guest rides would normally be a local area ride and a full Chapter ride. These tasters are to encourage the rider to join the Chapter (Guests must sign an insurance declaration)

    This is a very good day out. All of the towns on the north Norfolk steam railway line are decked out rather like film sets and many thousands of people dress in WW2 uniforms and 1940s civilian outfits. There are vehicles, marching bands parades etc.
    Don’t forget your cameras. ?

    Amusing day at Sheringham, yep lots of people dressed in strange costumes, managed to capture a picture of a German Officer.. (see FB until web fixed) not sure if he was going to bomb our chipshop however he was close to one, some say he may be shot at dawn…

    On a serious note – thanks John, good ride in from Fakenham…
